Wires is a Budapest-based four-piece noise-core/metalcore band formed in late 2019. Known for their jaw-breaking live performances and unique sonic identity, the band has quickly established itself as one of the heaviest and most innovative acts in the Central European heavy music scene. Their sound is built on fierce downtuned riffs, chaotic noise-driven atmospheres, and the creative use of unsettling electronics, delivering music that is both uncompromising and psychologically layered. Drawing inspiration from the New Wave movement of the 80s and the noisy, chaotic post-hardcore of the early 2000s, Wires forges an intense, dark, and thought-provoking soundscape with lyrics in English. After releasing several underground singles, Wires dropped their debut EP They Know in 2024, which was widely recognized as one of the most distinctive releases in the Hungarian heavy scene. Their DIY-driven approach and meticulous production style not only garnered attention in their home country but also led to sharing stages with international acts such as The Ghost Inside and The Browning. In 2024, Wires was selected as a supported artist of the Hangfoglaló Program, Hungary’s National Cultural Fund initiative for emerging acts, and performed at some of the country’s biggest festivals, including Campus and Fishing on Orfű. In 2025, they became awardees of the GrassrEUts Creative Europe programme and performed at Sziget Festival, one of the biggest festivals in Europe. That same year, Wires embarked on their first self-organized European tour, further expanding their presence beyond Hungary. As of 2025, Wires continues to push boundaries with their heaviest and most ambitious material to date, playing in front of growing crowds and cementing their reputation as a rising force in the European heavy music landscape.
